Album Description The long-awaited artist album from the hugely innovative Elite Force is upon us - and it was certainly worth the wait. Released on quality imprint Adrift Records, `Modern Primitive' sits comfortably beside eclectic and daring releases from label mates Chicken Lips, Meat Katie, Milke and Lee Coombs. Whether front-man for electronic-punk outfit Lunatic Calm, film/videogame-music producer extraordinaire, adored DJ (if you've seen this man play you'll know why) or dance floor producer, Elite Force (aka Shack) is a name synonymous with quality.

A musical journey August 9, 2007 Trick Monkey (UK) There are tracks on 'Modern Primitive' which are a far cry from some of Elite Force's music you may have heard elsewhere. Mr Force has proven himself to be a talented and diverse producer already, as anyone lucky enough to listen to his first album 'No Turning Back' will testify, and this album should be anything but a disappointment for those awaiting a follow up, or indeed those willing to appreciate a range of musical styles. Not only are there some outstanding spikey tech funk and breaks tracks, such as 'Return to Mindfunk' and 'Unsung Hero', but the whole album is interlaced with slower and more melodical tracks displaying elements of trip hop and ambience, my personal favourite being 'Kinetic Connection'. This second offering from Elite Force takes listeners on a musical journey through differing yet highly complementary styles; every time I put this into my CD player, I can't help but listen to it from start to finish. If you want 12 tracks of banging breaks, you would be better off looking elsewhere; however I would strongly advise against passing up the opportunity to give this a listen. If you're anything like me, it will be getting played over and over.
I take it back! April 23, 2007 Neal W. Grant (San Diego, CA) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
My initial review of 2 stars is way off-base. After several listens this album grows on you, and is really top-notch. Elite Force is one of a dying breed of quality breaks producers. Pick this up now!
