Amazon.com A self-confessed movieholic who often spends afternoons before sets in movie theaters the world over, international DJ-celebrity Paul Oakenfold has gone about capturing the sinister, malevolent mood of Dominic Sena's action-crime thriller with careful attention to both art and audience. His weave of cuts such as the Dope Smugglaz' dark and tense "The Word (PMT Remix)," Lemon Jelly's sunrise chill-out "Kneel Before Your God," and his own retro-electro collaboration with Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force, "Planet Rock (Swordfish Mix)," is smart and evocative, a glistening picture of L.A.'s high-tech underbelly in 2001. Indeed, it's hard not to hear beautiful, wealthy people at gorgeous raves in bathroom stalls somewhere off the Sunset Strip as Oakenfold segues the sleazy "Stanley's Tune" into the neon techno of "Password." Headphones could well be the way to go on initial spins, simply because Oakenfold's mix is spiced with the sort of celluloid nuances and attentions that are big enough to make this different from, say, Perfecto Presents Another World, but smooth enough to be enjoyable once properly processed. It's stealthy, imaginative, and more varied than a single listen might suggest. --Steffan Chirazi

NAME OF SONG PLS??????? February 19, 2008 BK (Atlanta, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Does anyone know the name of the song/music that is playing before/while Stanley (Hugh Jackman) is being interviewed in the club? the scene where John Travolta is making him hack the Dept of Def database with a gun to his head?
A Horrible Soundtrack to Accompany an Equally Horrible Movie July 20, 2007 CloudMan (Sydney, NSW Australia) Just when I thought Paul Oakenfold's dramatic fall from DJ grace had finally reached the bottom, he does the soundtrack for Swordfish. The fall continues.
This beauty comes complete with several lines from the movie and no mixing. As the album progresses, and I thought it couldn't possible get any worse, his own track "Speed" comes on with lots of great Formula-1 racing car sound FX's (sigh).
1/5 stars for this mockery of electronica.
The perfect computer related movie to this day March 27, 2007 Peter R. Apockotos (Brandon, FL USA) The soundtrack fits nicely but there is another version of the soundtrack that I use to own that also fits well. This is a perfect soundtrack for the perfect computer cracking related movie ever made. The Movie Hackers is good too but there is a difference in Hackers and Crackers and also has a very nice soundtrack.
High Voltage--The Frank Popp Ensemble May 21, 2006 Tarawa DCA (Washington, D.C.) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
One of my favorite Ciber Type Movies. Music, Guns, Holly, Computers--I'm in heaven. The mystery song (50,000 watts of...), which is not on the Sound Track is High Voltage by The Rank Popp Ensemble. You may find it on the Ride On album.
Double Edge Swordfish March 23, 2006 Clubber Lang (NYC) this album is f'n awesome. if you like trancey breaks, this is a must get. few full blown 4/4 trancers in there as well but they are NOT cheese. really cool cinematic feel is what you get from oakenfold & a. gray's trance productions and man the break beat tracks are off the hook ! very well rounded album almost every track is produced and/or remixed by oakenfold & andy gray. guest appearaces include pharell from the neptunes, jan johnston, dope smugglaz, pmt and patient saints. one of my fav. track on it is the N.E.R.D. hit 'Lapdace' which Oakey remixed for this album, a great remake of the classic "Planet Rock" by AB & The Soul Sonic Force and the PMT remix of The Word by The Dope Smugglaz.. really cool stuff. you'll be in the zone as the first track begins and wont be looking for the stop button. peace.
